Tunç Fırat Dereli is pleased to announce that Merve Akkuş and Elif Yaver have joined the firm’s Corporate and M&A group as partners. Their international backgrounds and deep expertise will further strengthen our Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions practice. Both Ms Akkuş and Mrs Yaver maintain a diverse practice that focuses on advising sponsors PEs and other private capital investors on all elements of their transactions including their investment structures. Their extensive experience includes representing clients in connection with complex transactions including asset and share dispositions spin-offs mergers joint ventures minority and other structured investments restructuring and general corporate matters. This appointment further builds Tunç Fırat Dereli’s growing Corporate M&A and Regulatory practices with a unique combination of international insight strong legal background and cross-sectoral transactional experience.

Merve Akkuş – Partner

Merve brings an international perspective with dual qualifications in Turkey and England & Wales and a distinguished career spanning top international law firms in London Istanbul and New York. She has extensive experience advising on cross-border M&A private equity and corporate governance working with multinational clients across sectors such as energy infrastructure and technology. Her ability to navigate complex transactional structures and regulatory environments makes her an invaluable addition to our team. Merve holds an LL.B. from Koç University and an LL.M. in Economics Law from Galatasaray University. Fluent in Turkish English and French she will contribute significantly to the continued growth of our corporate practice.

Elif Yaver – Partner

Elif is a dual-qualified lawyer admitted to both the Istanbul Bar Association and as a Solicitor in England & Wales with extensive experience advising on corporate and transactional matters. She has worked across a broad range of industries—including real estate infrastructure energy and technology—guiding clients through M&A project finance transactions regulatory compliance and public-private partnerships. Before joining Tunç Fırat Dereli Elif worked in private practice and later served as Senior Legal Counsel at Coca-Cola Icecek where she played a key role in major M&A and financing transactions and strategic investment projects. She holds an LL.B. from Galatasaray University and is fluent in Turkish English and French. Her expertise in cross-border transactions and regulatory frameworks will further strengthen our firm’s capabilities.
