Tunç Fırat Dereli is pleased to announce that Nilgün Serdar Şimşek, LL.M. and Nur Duygu Bozkurt have joined the firm as Partners in the Corporate M&A and Competition and Regulatory Compliance teams respectively. Their international backgrounds and deep expertise will further strengthen our practice.
This appointment further builds Tunç Fırat Dereli’s growing Corporate, M&A, Competition and Regulatory Compliance practices with a unique combination of international insight, strong legal background and cross-sectoral transactional experience.
Nilgün Serdar Şimşek | Partner
With over 25 years of experience advising local and international clients on complex corporate transactions, M&A, restructuring, and governance matters, Nilgün will play a key role in expanding the firm’s advisory capabilities, particularly in corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, succession planning, and family business institutionalisation. Throughout her career, Nilgün has advised businesses across multiple industries, leading high-impact transactions and cross-border reorganisations and supporting long-term value creation. She brings deep expertise in family governance models and Family Constitutions. Before joining the firm, Nilgün served in senior leadership roles at globally recognised professional services organisations and multinational groups, including as Senior Partner and Head of Legal Services at PwC Turkey, Founding Partner of PWC affiliated law firm, and Executive Legal Director at Karadeniz Holding, where she led international legal operations across more than 20 countries and managed large, multidisciplinary legal teams.
Nur Duygu Bozkurt | Partner
With extensive experience advising national and multinational clients on competition law and regulatory compliance matters, Duygu regularly supports clients in merger control filings, competition law compliance programs, and Competition Authority investigations, as well as corporate governance projects and day-to-day regulatory advisory work, particularly in highly regulated industries. In addition to competition law, Duygu brings significant expertise in sanctions, licensing regimes, anti-money laundering regulations, data protection, artificial intelligence governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory matters relating to free zones and organised industrial zone companies. Duygu is also the author of “Competition Violation through Best Price Guarantee in Online Commerce”, reflecting her academic and practical insight into digital markets and competition law enforcement. Before joining Tunç Fırat Dereli, Duygu worked at leading national and international law firms, where she advised on high-profile domestic and cross-border matters and played an active role in complex competition and regulatory projects.
